New York, New York: A Kiss and Thrill reunion

Last week, eight of us—we missed you Manda!—attended the Romance Writers of America National Conference in New York City. Ostensibly, we went for the workshops on writing craft, business, personal development, and industry trends offered by some of the best in the genre. Not to mention the chance to network with authors, editors, and agents.

But mostly, I think we attended to be surrounded for just a few days by those rare people in this world who really get us: other romance writers (especially other romantic suspense writers).

There’s nothing as precious as the chance to reconnect with friends, and this year we managed to get nearly all of the Kiss and Thrill women together in one place at one time, some of whom have never met in person!

We even watched Lena win a coveted published Daphne award, and Diana take third place in the unpublished Daphne. Congrats ladies, we’re so proud!!

I hope we can get together again soon, next time with Manda. And better lighting. 😉

  1. I was so happy to see Carey again, meet Rachel and Krista for the first time, and meet Lena in person after getting to know her during a blog interview! Next time, I hope to meet the rest of you! Wish I’d been at the Death by Chocolate party to cheer you all on. No matter! Cheering daily! ; )

  2. Meeting up with KaT members was truly the highlight of my week in NYC. My next goal: meeting ALL of you at the same time! 🙂 (Manda, that means you too.)

  3. You ladies look like you had a wonderful time! I listened to part of the Daphne Awards via streaming 🙂 I look forward to San Diego and maybe seeing y’all there.

  4. I agree with you. Sarah. Meeting up with my K&T sisters was one of the best parts of the conference. I just wish we could’ve spent more time together. And that Manda had been there. 🙂

  5. New York, RWA, Chocolate (and bubbly, probably), and the chance for the K&T crew to get together? What a wonderful opportunity! And it looks like you all even coordinated your outfits to a black and white theme. Glad you had fun.

  6. Carmen Pacheco

Congratulations to those deserved awards!!!! Yay, Ms. Diaz!!!!! We are proud to see you honored.

  7. A special thanks to my K&T sisters for helping me navigate the craziness of my first national conference. Wow! What a week!

  8. It was so wonderful to see everyone! I wish we’d had more time together. Conference is always too busy but soooo much fun!

  9. Gosh, I miss you all so much already! Thanks for a great post Gwen.

  10. I loved seeing you all this year. I hope we can meet up again–all nine of us–soon!

Thrill us with your wit...
