Julie Ann Walker Celebrates Romantic Suspense!

Julie Ann Walker

Today I am thrilled to welcome Julie Ann Walker back to Kiss and Thrill! The eagerly anticipated 5th book in Julie’s Black Knights, Inc. series released Tuesday, and I’m pretty sure her wonderful fans have already devoured it and are deluging her with requests for the next book. Fortunately for all of us at Kiss and Thrill, Julie has compiled a list of favorite authors to tide us over until book 6!

If you haven’t read Julie’s series yet, but don’t want to start with book 5, here is your chance to get caught up – she’s is giving away print copies of books 1-4 to one lucky commenter!

And now, I’m delighted to hand the blog over to the fabulous and talented Julie Ann Walker!

Let’s Celebrate Romantic Suspense!

AKA: The Authors Who Inspired Me to Write in the Genre

I’ve been wanting to do a shout-out to my fellow romantic suspense authors for quite some time now.  And what better place to do that than here on Kiss and Thrill, the blog dedicated to, run by, and specializing in the RS genre.  (Hi, ladies!  *waves*  Thanks for having me back!)  Because, truly, those of us who write romantic suspense first started out reading romantic suspense.  We fell in love with the action, the mystery, the mayhem, the thrill and chills and, of course, the sexy times.  *wink*  And while I adore the work of all the ladies here on the Kiss and Thrill site – seriously, if you haven’t picked up their books, you’re truly missing out – I wanted to dedicate this particular blog to some of the authors who pioneered the way for us, those wonderful writers who’ve been plugging away in the genre for years, sometimes decades.  I thought I’d do that by listing my top five favorite romantic suspense authors – in no particular order – adding why I love their writing and how they inspired my own.

So, without further ado…

1.)  Sandra Brown

Sandra has been writing romantic suspense since before romantic suspense was even considered a sub-genre.  (Not to give away her age or anything.  It’s obvious she started writing as a fetus.  *winces*  Hi, Sandra!)  But, the thing that always intrigues me about Sandra’s books are her intensely flawed heroes.  I adore them.  They’re unique.  They’re angst-y.  And above all else, they’re real.

2.)  Elizabeth Lowell

Can you say delicious prose, boys and girls?  Because Elizabeth does it like no other.  Rich descriptions, tasty metaphors, scrumptious word choices.  I fall in love with her sentence structures.  Plus, Elizabeth’s books are always a like mini college classes in 400 pages or less.  Her research is phenomenal.  And to read one of her books is to get a crash course in everything from the emerald trade to the collection of old tintypes.  So. Much. Fun!

3.)  Linda Howard

Talk about a pioneer.  Linda’s  first single title was published in 1982!  Her books are always filled to the brim with adventure, intrigue, daring heroes, dauntless heroines, and intensely despicable villains. I like to say Linda writes romantic suspense in its purest, most distilled form. Her books epitomize the genre. I suppose that’s why she’s so long-lasting, eh?  Go, Linda!

4.)  Suzanne Brockmann

Oh, be still my heart.  Suzanne Brockmann’s Troubleshooter series is the entire reason I started reading the genre.  And the thing that most inspires me about Suzanne is that she’s a rule-breaker.  She writes from multiple points of view – something not done until recently.  One of her heroes is gay – something still frowned upon in some circles.  Her books usually have two love stories – something that editors will tell you is a no-no.  The list of ways she’s pushed the envelope goes on and on.  But my point is, not only does she break the rules, but she does it beautifully, eloquently, masterfully.

5.)  Lora Leigh

Oh, Lora, Lora, Lora!  *fans self*  Does she know how to write one smokin’ hot book, or what?  If you’re a Shades of Grey fan, but like some hard-core action between your titillating sex scenes, then Lora is the gal for you!  She takes romantic suspense to the next level on the heat scale.  Her characters’ chemistry practically sets the pages on fire.  Be sure to set the screen level brightness on your eReader to dim, or else the words might just burn out your retinas.  LOL!

So, thanks ladies, for not only giving me great books to read, but also for giving me the inspiration to pen my own works!  You all rock!

And with that, I’m outa here!  A resounding huzzah to the gals at Kiss and Thrill for having me back.  It’s always such a treat!

One lovely commenter will win print copies of the first four books in my Black Knights Inc. series!  Just answer the following question:  Who is your all-time favorite romantic suspense writer and what is it that you love about their books?

Born-Wild-Book-CoverNew York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker dives back into action with the red-hot romantic suspense Black Knights Inc. series!  They claim they’re bad-boy bikers who own custom motorcycle shop, but these special-ops guys–a mix of Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Marines, FBI and more–handle the jobs too tough for the government to tackle.

“Wild” Bill Reichert knows a thing or two about explosives. The ex-Navy SEAL can practically rig a bomb blindfolded. But there’s no way to diffuse the inevitable fireworks the day Eve Edens walks back into his life, asking for help…

Eve doesn’t know what to do when the Chicago police won’t believe someone is out to hurt her. The only place to turn is Black Knights Inc—after all, no one is better at protection than the covert special-ops team. Yet there’s also no one better at getting her all turned on than Billy Reichert. She has a feeling this is one blast from the past that could backfire big time…

One heck of a riveting plotline… Born Wild is definitely not to be missed!” —RT Book Reviews, 4 ½ Stars

A wild roller coaster ride of a story… Nonstop action.” —Fresh Fiction

“Drama, danger and sexual tension… Romantic suspense at its best.” —Night Owl Reviews, 5/5 Stars, Reviewer Top Pick

  1. Julie, I agree–all wonderful–but must add Karen Rose, Mariah Stewart, and Laura Griffin! Oooh, can’t forget Alison Brennan, Roxanne St. Claire…but I know I’m forgetting somebody! I need top ten instead of five! But it’s Karen Rose that got me so hooked on the genre. That first book where the cowed heroine fakes her death and goes underground with her son to escape her abusive cop husband. So real, so scary, so possible! Thanks for a great post! Just bought one of yours this week, sounds delicious & can’t wait to start! : )

  2. Sandra Brown. Her heroes are everyday ordinary people.

  3. Welcome back to K&T, Julie! I started reading Born Wild last night, which I have to tell you is pure torture while in the midst of NaNo and book edits. Normally I would have finished it already. 😉 I love your BKI boys, and I’ve been waiting for Bill and Eve to finally get there story.

Suzanne Brockmann is absolutely my first and most lasting RS love. Her characters are so real, so flawed, and she’s not afraid to take things over the top. I love how she can take a guy who’s plain or odd looking and make him handsome to the heroine (and vice versa). Roxanne St. Claire, Cindy Gerard, Laura Griffin and Linda Howard are right behind SB. And if we go way, way back, you’ll find that I devoured Mary Stewart’s books as a teenager before I’d ever considered writing one.

Thanks for sharing your favorite RS authors. There are a few new-to-me writers that I need to check out. Next month. 😉

  4. I love the Troubleshooters series from Suzanne Brockmann. She makes her characters so real and lovable. I love that she has a gay couple within the series. Suzanne is a fantastic writers and I look forward to reading all her books.

  5. I agree, Jenna Blue! I could make a list of FIFTY wonderful RS author – including the ladies on this lovely blog. But then the post would be a mile long and who’s got time to read that? LOL!

  6. Oooh, Deborah D is another Sandra Brown fan! Yay, Deb! *high-five*

  7. Ohh I can’t choose! But I would have to say Lora Leigh! Her books are hot, down right sexy and action packed!

  8. I have to go with Suzanne Brockmann because she’s the writer who introduced me to the genre. But I hate not being able to pick all of them!

  9. Thanks for having me back on Kiss and Thrill, Gwen H.! It’s always so lovely to be here. Feels a bit like home, ya know? And NaNo… ugh. I did it last year and it about killed me. This year I had the debut and edits scheduled, so I bowed out. But, oy, now how am I supposed to get new words on the page in the month of November? 😉

  10. My favorite is JD Robb’s series because I love Eve and Roarke!

  11. Cynthia Eden – she write wonderful,so complicated stories, but simply written on easy, understandable way:)

  12. I agree, Sharon Wray! I love ALL THE WRITERS!!! LOL!

  13. I absolutely love Linda Howard and Lora Leigh but I have yet to check out the other authors you listed. Can’t wait to get my hands on their books!!!

    • I forgot to answer the question-oops- : ) My fav. romantic suspense author is Karen Robards and Linda Howard and Judith McNaught. Sorry, I couldn’t pick just one 🙂 I can remember the very first book I picked up to read from each of these ladies and I loved them so much, I ran to my computer to look up more of their books and started working off their backlists. I wanted to read everything they have written! They pulled me into the story, gave their characters an amazing voice and made me…yes made me 🙂 forget chores, dishes and cooking the kids dinner. I was immersed in their stories and on the edge of my seat. Death Angel by Linda Howard, was my first of her’s, One Day by Karen Robards, was my first book of her’s and Paradise by Judith McNaught was my first from her books. I read in all genres and have lately been a little obsessed with paranormal, but I always make room for romantic suspense and will always pick up a book that has these ladies names on it 🙂 I can’t wait to read your books Julie! Not only do they sound amazing, but the covers themselves are amazing….YUM 🙂

  14. I think Julie Garwood is my favorite with Karen Robards a close second. But now with ebooks I love a whole lot of new (to me)writers!

  15. Tammy DiDominic, yes! Absolutely! The “e” revolution has changed the playing field immensely. For the betterment of readers AND writers. Go technology! LOL!

  16. Linda Howard is hands down the best romantic suspense writer ever. She writes the best alphas.

  17. Suzanne Brockmann — not only are her stories engaging, suspenseful, romantic, and fun, but they also normalize differences that shouldn’t matter and embrace the differences that make us cherish the characters for who they truly are.

  18. Oh, you have to add Cherry Adair and Shannon McKenna to this list as well. Elizabeth Lowell is fabulous, too, as is everyone else on your list. But you’re right–there are too many names to add them all!!

  19. i love Maya Banks & Julie Garwood

  20. Brittany Wendtland

Oh Its So Hard To Choose Just One But I Love J C Reeds Series Of Conquer, Surrender, And Treasure Your Love Its Well Written And Just Keeps You Wanting More And I Love The Characters InThe Book!!

  21. My favorites are Allison Brennan and Cynthia Eden. Also, Maya Banks ( her KGI series is fantastic!!)

  22. Oooh, Julie Garwood. She’s another pioneer. I totally heart her, too! ;-D

  23. I haven’t read too many romantic suspense novels but I have read the first three books in the Black Knights Inc series by Julie Ann Walker so far and LOVED them! I was on the edge of my seat reading the entire time and telling my husband he had to read them too. I am getting read to dive in to book 4, then 5 soon after. What I love so much about these books is that the guys are military and SUPER hot. These books are so engaging and once I start reading them I can’t put them down!!

  24. I have always been a Lori foster and sherrilyn Kenyon fan. Glad Lori posted about Julie walker. I am going to start reading that series now.

  25. Dean Koontz, Tami Hoag, and Elizabeth Lowell for romantic suspense. Especially the books Koontz wrote in the 80s and the ones Hoag wrote in the 90s.

For mysteries with a hint of romance Mary Higgins Clark and Elizabeth Peters.

These are the authors who made me want to become a writer.

Congrats on the new release, and thanks so much for joining us today, Julie! We always love having you here at Kiss and Thrill!

  26. Linda Howard, Rebecca Foster,

  27. Jacki sieupersad

I think my all time favorite is Nora Roberrts. To be honest I want really into suspense romance until the last few years. Julie ann Walker is edging her out of first very quickly. I’m in love with this series. I can not wait to read book number 5.

  28. Lora Leigh – Her books grab your interest and keeps it. full of action and romance.

  29. I agree with everyone above, but I also love Lynn Kurland, Robyn Carr, Sherryl Woods and Susan Elizabeth Phillips. You can never read too much romance!

  30. This is a new genre for me but I am anxious to read the Knights Series by Julie Ann Walker.

  31. Julie, I’ve been reading Sandra Brown, Elizabeth Lowell, and Linda Howard since (ahem) way back when!?!?
I think Sandra Brown is my favorite because I can’t put her books down once I start reading…love the combination of suspense and romance! Amazing!
Congrats on your newest book, btw!

  32. Elizabeth Lowell made the jump from heart wrenching romance to suspense long ago. Her characters are beautifully drawn, Her dialogue is sharp, memorable, and touching. Each adventure is exquisitely planned and the resolutions never involve a deus ex machina, but the hard work and intelligence of desperate people in a race against time and the heart. The romance in her novels is frequently unwanted and unneeded because her characters have lives they are busy living, but are forced into a situation where they are drawn together and find a deep, lasting love as they shelter together. I have never once put down a Lowell/Maxwell novel with the thought that these people will be divorced within five years. Though I read some of her novels twenty-five years ago, I still remember them because Lowell has the very rare ability to etch her stories in the hearts of her readers. Be they sci-fi/fantasy, romantic suspense, historical, contemporary, or mysteries, her books can’t be classified as “Keepers or Traders” because her tales simply demand to be reread over and over. Lowell writes as Elizabeth Lowell, Ann Maxwell, A.E. Maxwell and in one case, Annalise Sun. A new book would be lovely to read and then use as a prize for an erotica writers contest i’m running, so thank you for the opportunity!

  33. My fav would probably be Lora Leigh, I think I own just about every book she had written!! Love the suspense, hot and steamy romance scenes and the hot guys that go with it!!!

  34. Without a doubt…Suzanne Brockmann is my all time fave. I think I’ve devoured everything she’s wrote. She is so great. Her stories just flow with unstoppable action, humor and of course looove. Her characters get along or not and there’s always a way out of whatever mess they decide to get into. Woo, that was windy, I’ll shut up now. But first I gotta say Julie Ann Walkers guys are hot hot hot!

  35. Oh julie i trully love this series, i think its fantastic. My first taste of romantic suspense was Maya Banks KGI series which i truly loved. That prompted me to go in search of other authors with series like this, i stumbled upon the fantastic Julie Ann Walker and BKI boy *swoons* but i also found similar series by Teresa Reason her SEAL team heartbreaker s series is outstanding!! And i lso have a huge amount of love for rts MacKenzie series. Im currently 10% into Born Wild and im loving Eve and Bill.

  36. Suzanne Brockmann, JD Robb, Dianna Love, Caridad Pineiro, andso many more. They each give us action, adventure and romance that keeps us coming back for more. Julie Ann Walker’s BKI is a wonderful addition to the genre.

  37. Linda Howard! She never fails to keep me wanting more!

  38. I’ve just learned of this series and would love to start reading!

  39. There are actually two ladies that have not only got me reading again but writing as well, that would be Maya Banks and Stephanie Tyler.

Stephanie has a way of writing badass men that just knocks my socks off. They could have the baddest attitude and be so crude yet you find yourself saying “Yeah but I love them.” I lived her hard to hold series. Just delish!!

Maya…three letters K G I. I just love this series. I love that she writes such strong alpha men with strong family values. The Kelly’s epitomize this. Just can’t get enough of them. And it doesn’t hurt that she can produce a VERY hot read.

  40. Lora Leigh was the first real romance/suspense author I read. Her Tempting Seals series is what drew me in and gave me a taste of a little bit of bad boy hero to liven up an ordinary day.

  41. I haven’t read any romantic suspense books yet, so I don’t have a favorite. After reading about these books though I’m wondering why I haven’t checked out this genre yet! I’m totally missing out! Going to go find some of these books now!

  42. Lora Leigh I love all her breed books you get suck in on page one and the last page has you wanting more

  43. Suzanne Brockmann is my absolute favorite, Like so many others, she was the one to introduce me to the genre. The main reason I like her so well is that she develops her characters so well that you feel like you are part of the family and invested in their well being. Love it. I was introduced to your books by my library book club “Trashy Tuesdays”. We started with “Hell on Wheels” and then were given the ARC of “Thrill Ride”. Have grabbed the others as I’ve found them and love them. Can’t wait to read “Born Wild”.

  44. jennifer kessler

Love to read 🙂 one of my favorite authors

  45. I have books from all your top 5 but you cannot forget Karen Rose, Julie Garwood, Kay Hooper, Mariah Stewart, Sharon Sala, Tami Hoag…. Good thing I have an entire room dedicated for just my books although I don’t think my boyfriend likes having to keep adding more shelves lol

  46. I love the genre and have been enjoying it for years, so I agree with all the authors everyone is listing. Instead of my all time favorite-which would be impossible to choose- instead I’m going to go with my newest favorite 🙂 That would be ML Buchman and his Night Stalkers series, who while a male romantic suspense writer which is kind of different, tells a really great story. It has all the military detail for those that enjoy it-everyone so far in what I’ve read is involved in flying military helicopters, it has action, suspense, and yes romance. There is good character development and fun which is why I am adding him to my list of must read romantic suspense authors.

  47. I love Romantuc suspense books…especially series! Top 3 authors are Karin Slaughter, Allison Brennan, and JD Robb.

  48. deausha sernicola

Would have to say Lora Leigh… lovethe way she writes. And her caracters are hot

  49. I’ve read most of those authors Julie listed, but have to catch up with some of the latest, plus I’d really love to meet Julie’s Black Knights!

  50. Elizabeth Lowell for the stories

  51. Angela Clendenny

Karen Robards and Julie Garwood are two of my favorite Romantic Suspense writers. They really get you involved in the characters lives and pull you in right from the start.

  52. So many good suggestions here, folks! Keep ’em coming!

  53. I have to agree that Linda Howard and Sandra Brown are great suspense writers, but Lora Leigh adds that “steamy” part I just love! So she wins for me!

  54. I’d have to say Suzanne Brockmann’s because she was the first to really introduce me to romantic suspense & I love how she continues her characters & builds on her story lines throughout her series. I have since found so many great authors (Julie Ann Walker included!) & great stories since I stumbled upon Suz.

  55. Jennifer McElroy

I really LOVE the BKI series! I think Julie-Ann does an awesome job weaving the stories together and developing the individual characters!! I eagerly anticipate each new release!! 🙂

  56. I would have to say Suzanne Brockmann because 1) she’s the first romantic suspense author I read and 2) who can resist those Navy Seals….YUM! But I do have to say…close seconds would be Tara Janzen and her Steele Street Series and of course Julie Ann’s BKI series! I have all of both!!!!!

  57. I started w/trying to figure which of my favorite authors would fit into your criteria. I looked up at one of the bookshelves and there was Linda Howard staring me in the face. Her stories have always been good (since Harlequin days) & I felt like I got my monies worth – never a disappointment that I can remember.

Jean Boe 13995 Exley Way Apple Valley, MN 55124 email: boedj@aol.com

  58. Love Lora Leigh. Adding in some of my favorite Christy Reece, Dee Davis, Stephanie Tyler and Cindy Gerard.

  59. I love BKI! I read Born Wild in one day, I just could not put it down! Another one of my favorites is Marie Force (though she doesn’t write exclusively RS) her Fatal series is excellent. DC scandal and murder with some HOT scenes mixed in what’s not to love.

  60. Louise at Readers Confession

What a fantastic giveaway! There are so many great authors mentioned in the comments and in the blog post, I’d like to add just a few of my faves, including Lora Leigh, Maya Banks, Cindy Gerard and Melissa Cutler. I could also several more, as there are many fabulous authors of romantic suspense. Each of these amazing authors have the power to bring their stories alive, like a movie in my head. I’m easily transported into the lives of the hot alpha males and I just love it!

  61. Great list, Julie! Brought back so many wonderful memories.

  62. So many great authors! Love hearing people’s favorites – and we’re taking notes here at Kiss and Thrill and will see if we can lure these authors to visit here in the future. Several have been guests already – but we love return visits!

I also want to remind everyone to check back tomorrow to see if you are the giveaway winner. Prize must be claimed within 10 days of the winner announcement.

  63. Julie, Love the hat!!! Your question is impossible to answer! So I won’t even try. Thanks so much for joining us today and what a great blog!

  64. Beverley Barton, may she RIP, her Griffin Powell series is one of my all time favourites and Kay Hooper’s Bishop series oh and Cindy Gerard’s BOI *sigh* I love those boys, then there’s Lisa Jackson, Suze Brockmann, JD Robb, Mariah Stewert, Maya Banks and of course yourself 🙂

  65. I read a lot of romantic suspense so thats hard to pick just one author. They all are so amazing in just different ways. Some of my absolute faves are JD Robb, Allison Brennan, Maya Banks, Mariah Stewart and Beverly Barton, There are tons more too.

  66. Linda Howard! I’ve read her entire backlist and only didn’t like ONE of them. I love the mix of thrilling, suspenseful plots with romance, and just the right amount of steamy-ness. Each of her books feel different, the characters are unique. Love ’em!

  67. I dont know that I could pick one. There are so many great ones out there. Laura Griffin, Alison Brennan, Roxanne St. Claire, Cindy Gerard, Christy Reece/Ella Grace, Nora Roberts/JD Robb, Cythina Eden, Shiloh Walker. To name a few

  68. Hands down Sandra brown. She never disappoints and always catches me off guard. Her Hero’s are always swoon worthy.

  69. Love Suzanne Brockman, Maya Banks, Pamela Clare and of course, the BKI author … what is her name?!?!?!?! 😎

  70. Karen Rose is my favorite romantic suspense writer. She always writes meticulously plotted stories that always have me guessing! The love story threaded through the mystery is always hard won. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  71. I am pretty new to Romantic Suspense. Your Black Knight Inc. books sound very interesting and I can’t wait to read them. Thank you for listing your favorite authors in this genre I look forward to getting to know these authors as well.

  72. Welcome back, Julie and wow, what a following! A testament to your super-sexy Black Knight series. (Man, on days like this I wish I could be in the running!)

Hmmm, fav RS author (this is hard.) I think my top 3 are Lisa Gardner, Allison Brennan and Brenda Novak.

Take the ‘romance’ out of it and it’s Karin Slaughter, hands down.

Best of luck racing up the bestseller chart!

    • Thanks for having me back on, Sarah! I debuted this week with Pamela Clare, Stephanie Tyler, Liliana Hart, and a slew of other RS authors. Wouldn’t it be great if we dominated the bestseller charts? Romantic suspense for the win! (A girl can dream, can’t she?)

  73. I Love your Black knights series and another would be Cynthia Eden and Katie Reus with her Red Stone Security series!!!! Thank you for the chance to win….. I hope Born Wild Soars to the Top!!!!

  74. Congrats on the new release, Julie. My favorite romantic suspense author is Pamela Clare. I love her I Team series. Her books are hot and full of emotion.

  75. I don’t know if these classify as suspense but they do in my book. JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series. They are so well written, with danger, suspense, romance, and so different than most vampire stories. Plus, she has POVs from the heroine, the hero, the head bad guy, the bad guy’s second in command, other BDB brothers, etcetera. You get this wide range to every story from every perspective that just makes the story impossible to step away from.

    • I’m always tickled to see my books on the shelves next to JD Ward’s books. Walker/Ward… Who knew there would be an upside to being near the end of the alphabet? Ha!

  76. Thank you so much for the post and giveaway! I love this series and would love the chance to win print copies. Fingers crossed! 🙂

To answer your question: I really enjoy Catherine Anderson’s books. She focuses a lot on the romance aspect, but she has included suspense in some of her books, which I love. I especially love her Kendrick/Coulter/Herrigan series, some of which has some suspense elements. She writes some great western heroes.

And then, of course, there’s the books by Julie Ann Walker! Some of the best books I’ve read!

    • Awww, go on, now. You’re making me blush! LOL! I haven’t read anything by Catherine Anderson, but I’m going to check her out. Thanks for the rec!

  77. I have to say that one of my favorite romantic suspense writers is Dee Henderson. Her O’Malley Family series is one that I love going back to because of the depth of the world and real love of all the characters.

  78. I love the series, it is amazing and seriously hot. You are of course one of my favorites as well as Linda Howard who was the the author that got me hooked on the genre and Catherine Coulter, Savich and Sherlock have always been one of my favorite couples of the genre.

  79. Lora leigh is one of my favorites on this list I have so many of her books and every chance I get especially her breed books they always bring me further into the series and want to buy anytime I can

  80. I have a lot of favorites but have to give top billing to Nora Roberts. Her books always grip you from the 1st chapter and are impossible to put down. Her series also are mostly written so that they can but don’t have to be read in order without getting losing something.

  81. Josette Schaber

Who is your all-time favorite romantic suspense writer and what is it that you love about their books?

I’m new to the romantic suspense genre, I have a bunch on my TBR. However, I do have an author that I read this year, her first book is Second Chances and her second book released recently, Second Nature. They were awesome reads. She incorporated the action, the romance, and a moral all seamlessly. I think most romance have a bit of suspense, why else would the big alpha male have to save the heroine? Got to love the protective alpha male.

  82. My favorite would have to be Mary Higgins Clark. My librarian got me started reading her many many moons ago. She creates suspense from the very begging that keeps you guessing until the very end.. You can feel the love between the hero and heroine & wish it was what had.

  83. Diana Deisinger

My favorite romantic suspense author is Maya Banks, I love that the hero and heroine are truly meant for each other. I also like that you never know what is going to happen next in each story.

  84. I love Sandra Brown! Envy was the first of many if her books I read and I was hooked after the first chapter. Love her books!

  85. Linda Howard is my favorite because of the great chemistry her heroes and heroines have.

  86. I don’t know about thrilling you with my wit, which I think is sadly lacking in me. 🙂 But I do know that I’ve loved Linda Howard’s romantic suspense stories for a long time. Of course, she’s always been a good writer, even before she got into the suspense angle, but she’s has always, always had some humor in her stories as well. I love that in a story. In addition to the romance and the suspense, if I can get in a giggle or two…it’s all to the better. Thanks for the post! jdh2690@gmail.com

  87. Very Interesting!

  88. That’s a toughy to nail down to just one because I like some b/c of their even balance of romance to suspense and others for leaning heavily more one direction than the other. I just read Liliana Hart’s Kill Shot and it was an even blend of both that had my pulse-pounding hard and gave me more than one surprise twist.

Enjoyed your list and like a few of those two including your books. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.

  89. my fav is definitely Suzanne Brockmann, her Troubleshooter series is amazing. I love her style of writing and how she weaves past and present together to make unforgettable books

  90. Thank you so much, Julie for guest blogging with us today!! Great post! And thank you so much to everyone who visited and commented!

  91. Love the Black Knights…especially when hubby has to go out of town!!!

  92. Lora Leigh – just wow!

Thrill us with your wit...
